Maintenance oak planks

The oak plank is pre-treated with linseed oil and beeswax. Don't hesitate to use the product right away, but we recommend washing the cutting board before use.

When it’s time to treat your plank depends of use and moist.

A simple way to see when it’s time is that the oak wood starts looking pale.

We recommend treating the plank approximately once a month.

We recommend using linseed oil and beeswax, the oil nurtures deeply and the beeswax fills out gaps and holes and providing water repellency and gives a glossy finish.

You can find our hardwax oil as a ready product at our web-shop.

There are options to keep your plank in a good condition with vegetable oils like linseed oil, rapeseed oil or coconut oil.

Cleaning your plank: Wash your cutting board with warm water and use dish soap if needed. Avoid submerging it or in water run on it longer than necessary.

To keep the hygiene: Sprinkle coarse salt on the cutting board and scrub it with half a lemon to clean and eliminate odors. For tough stains like beetroot, use fine-grit sandpaper to gently sand the surface.

Storage: Keep the cutting board dry, avoiding exposure to moisture or warm environments. Which can lead to cracks or warping.
